WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2: JERUSALEM / MT NEBO / ST GEORGE CHURCH / PETRA

After breakfast, we continue our journey by crossing the border into Jordan.  We will visit Mt Nebo where The Lord told Moses to ascend and see the Promised Land, but not enter. After lunch, we visit the early Byzantine Church of Saint George (6th century).  Here we will view the Madaba Mosaic Map of the Holy Land. The Madaba Map depicts part of the Middle East and contains the oldest surviving original cartographic depiction of the Holy Land and especially Jerusalem.  It's off to Petra for dinner and overnight at our hotel.  B|L|D

THURSDAY, APRIL 3: PETRA / DEAD SEA

After an early breakfast we visit Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Today we will walk through the rose-colored canyon to Petra, a city dating back to 300 B.C., which was literally cut into the cliff sides.  We will visit various temples, the Amphitheater, the Monastery, the Streets of Columns, and the Treasury. After lunch in a local restaurant, we drive to our hotel on the Dead Sea. B|L|D

FRIDAY, APRIL 4: DEAD SEA / MACHAERUS / AMMAN

After breakfast, we drive to the desert fortress of Machaerus.  It was here that Herod Antipas, the son of Herod the Great, had John the Baptist.  From there we will continue on to our hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight.  B|L|D

SATURDAY, APRIL 5: AMMAN > DETROIT Today we transfer to the airport for our flight home after a spiritual journey in the footsteps of Jesus. Shalom and God bless! B
