Holy Land Pilgrimage

Experience Jesus footsteps in a deep and powerful way by pilgrimage to The Holy.  Come to understand in a new and powerful way the depth of Our Lord's love and His willingness to be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind.  Let the Holy Spirit reveal to us how we can be living sacrifices (Romans 12:1).  This pilgrimage offers the unique blessing of being lead spiritually by  Fr Andrew, from St Clare Montefalco catholic church as our Leader. 

Day 1 Detroit

Departs USA for overnight flight to Tel Aviv, Israel.

 

Day 2  Tel Aviv

Arrival in Tel Aviv, we will be met by our professional tour guide who will escort us to our hotel along the Mediterranean shoreline . Dinner and overnight in beautiful Tel Aviv.

 

Day 3 Caesarea - Mt Carmel - Stella Marris

We travel to Caesarea and visit the Roman theater and Crusader ruins.

This morning we make our trip to Caesarea to visit the Roman theater and Crusader ruins.  We continue to Mt Carmel where Elijah confronted the false prophet Baal. Celebrate mass at the church of Stella Marris. In t he afternoon we go to the Mount of Transfiguration where Jesus was transfigured before his beloved disciples Peter, James and John. At the end of the day we drive back to our hotel on the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight. Crusader ruins, and where the Romans held Paul prisoner.  We continue to Carmel Mountain, where Elijah confronted the false prophets of Baal and where the Carmelite Order began. We will celebrate mass at the church of Stella Marris and enjoy a beautiful viewpoint of the Bahai hanging gardens.  This afternoon we drive to Mt. Tabor, the MT of Transfiguration where Jesus was transfigured before Peter, James and John.  Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.  B | D

Day 4  Mt Beatitudes - Caesarea -Capernaum

Today we go to the Mount of Beautitudes to celebrate mass where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. We continue to Golan Heights and Caesarea Philippi. Here, Jesus asked his disciples "Who do people say I am?" We return to the Sea of Galilee and visit Capernaum, the town where Jesus was a guest at the house of St. Peter. We will also visit the church of the multiplication of loaves and fish , and the nearby church of Primacy of St. Peter. Close the day with a boat ride on the sea of Galilee before we go back to the hotel for dinner and overnight   B | D

Day 5 Cana - Nazareth - Samaria - Jerusalem

This morning we journey to Cana to visit the wedding church where Jesus performed His first miracle - the turning of water to wine. Here, married couples can renew their vows. Continue to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and celebrate mass. In the afternoon, we drive to Samaria and come to the city of Nablus and visit Jacobs Well where Jesus encountered the Samaritan woman. Close the day with a tour drive through Samaria arriving in Jerusalem in the afternoon. Check into our hotel for dinner and overnight.  B | D

Day 6 Yad Vashem - Bethlehem

This morning we visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum.

We then make our excursion to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity where our Lord was born. We will also visit the nearby St. Catherine's Church built over the Grotto of St. Jerome who translated the Bible. We will have the chance to visit the Shepherds field where the Angel appeared to the Shepherds while keeping watch over the flocks. Here we will celebrate mass, hopefully l n a natural cave that was used by the shepherds. Drive back to the hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.  B | D

Day 7  Gethsemane - Mt of Olives - Mt. Zion

We will open the day with a mass at the Garden of Gethsemane around the Rock of Agony. We will drive to the top of Mt of Olives and visit the church of Pater Noster where Jesus taught the Lords Prayer. This afternoon we will visit the church of the Domition on Mt. Zion where Mary "fell asleep." Nearby, we will visit the Upper Room, the place of the Last Supper , We will also visit the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Jesus three times. Back to our hotel for dinner and overnight.  B | D

Day 8 Stations of the Cross - Holy Sepulcher - Old City

This morning we will get up early and go to the Old City to pray the Stations of the Cross ending at the church of the Holy Sepulcher where we will celebrate mass at the Empty Tomb of our Lord. After mass, we will visit the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher. Go back to our hotel for breakfast and some time to freshen up. Later, we will go in the Old City again to visit the church of St. Anne and the Pools of Bethesda. We will also visit the Wailing Wall before we go back to the hotel and allow a free afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. B

Day 9 Masada - Qumran - Jericho

Depart the hotel at 7am and drive to visit Masada; the site of King Herod's desert mountain getaway palace and scene of the zealots last stand against the Roman Legion.  Ascend with a cable car and explore the ancient excavation of Herod's Palaces, the bathhouse, storerooms, the rampand one of the oldest synagogues in the world. Visit Qumran and learn about the Dead Sea Scrolls. Enjoy a float on the Dead Sea before continuing to the Jordan River where John baptized our Lord and to renew our baptismal vows. Drive to nearby Jericho and celebrate mass at the church of the Good Shepherd. View the Sycamore tree in Jericho to recall the story of Zaccheus. We will also view the Mount of Temptation where the devil tempted our Lord. Return to hotel in Jerusalem.  

Day 10 Holy Land > Detroit

Early wake up call and transfer to Tel Aviv. Return home after a spiritual journey to the Holy Land.
