DAY 1: ZAKOPANE - Depart Krakow for the scenic hills of Zakopane, Poland’s winter capital nestled in the Tatra’s mountains and a place close to the heart of St. John Paul II, as the mountains were literally the backyard of his house. As a child he hiked and skied along its trails. As a priest and Bishop, he initiated youth activities along the same areas. Upon arrival, celebrate Mass at Fatima Church (subject to confirmation) which was built by the mountaineers in gratitude for the Blessed Mother saving the life of St. John Paul II from the assassination attempt. Lunch on your own.  This afternoon there will be time for strolling and shopping on Krupowki Street in the local bazaar.  Dinner on your own.  Overnight at Hotel Aquarion in Zakopane. B

DAY 2: ZAKOPANE – After breakfast at hotel, we start the day by celebrating Mass at the Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa (subject to confirmation), often called the “old church”. Built in 1847, it is the oldest wooden religious building in Zakopane.     Experience a funicular ride to the heights to Mt. Gubalowka for a stunning view of the Tatra Mountains and hillsides of Zakopane. Next, take an enthralling ride on the horse carriages through the forest ending at wooden hut with “bigos” (national Polish dish) and sausages on bonfire. The remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure with optional visit to Bukovina Thermal Baths ($35/person). B | L

DAY 3: ZAKOPANE - After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and celebrate Mass at a local church. We then depart Zakopane for a raft trip down the Dunajec River through the Pieniny Gorge and along the Polish-Slovak border, which is one of the greatest tourist attractions in Poland. The serene tour begins at the raft wharf in Sromowce Nizne and ends 9-miles later in Szczawnica. The towering cliffs, the gorge’s limestone rock formations, the picturesque mountain scenery, and the colorful river guides make for a wonderful day in a pristine and wild environment. The trip lasts three hours, depending on the water level of the river. After lunch on your own en route we depart for Krakow.  Dinner on our own and overnight at the Vienna House Andel's Cracow Hotel. B
